Saeed El-Darahali is the president and CEO of SimplyCast, a leading provider of self-service multi-channel marketing services empowering small businesses to create, manage and track their own online and offline marketing campaigns.
He is the driving force behind SimplyCast's all-in-one marketing solution that has been built from the ground up and today has clients in over 175 countries. Saeed has participated as a speaker at many conferences, including NAWeb, CABI, the 7th World Congress of e-Business, Enterprize Atlantic and ARCN. A part-time lecturer at Saint Mary’s University, he has taught a senior level
computer information systems course, System Analysis and Design.
Saeed brings over seven years of management experience in the IT industry, with an interest in strategic partnering, corporate financing, strategic growth, operations, and sales and marketing management. Saeed most recently served as Acting CEO for the organization since January 2009 and mentor since January 2006.
In his spare time, Saeed enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, running, playing computer games and web development.
Saeed holds a Masters of Business Administration, a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, a Certificate of Human Resource Management and Minor in Economics, all from Saint Mary's University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He enjoys sharing his experiences with start-up companies, offering insights into growing a business and becoming successful.
Ian Logie acts as the CFO for SimplyCast
As Chief Financial Officer, Ian is responsible for all banking, budgeting, monthly and year-end financial statements for SimplyCast.
Ian brings over 30 years of experience in all aspects of financial planning, budgeting, control and management. He has extensive experience in the preparation of business plans, feasibility studies and projections, both domestically and internationally.
As well as being a member of SimplyCast’s executive management team, Ian is a business consultant and financial adviser to numerous companies both domestic and international. Ian is also a shareholder in a number of private companies.
When Ian is not crunching numbers and managing SimplyCast finances, he enjoys a good game of tennis or squash and keeping up on the latest novel.
Ian holds a Masters of Business Administration from Dalhousie University, located in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Mr. Ritchie, formerly a SimplyCast advisor, was one of three people inducted into the Business Hall of Fame on Thursday, June 10th 2010. Mr. Ritchie’s distinguished career includes having been chairman and CEO of Scotia Bond Ltd. as well as being one of the founders of Keltic Savings Corporation Limited.
Over the years, Mr. Ritchie has served in boardrooms of companies including Empire Company Ltd., Sobeys Inc., Keltic Inc., DHX Media Ltd., King Insurance and e-Academy Inc.
Aubrey Palmeter is President & CEO of EastPoint Engineering Limited with responsibility for strategic direction and business planning. During his career, Mr. Palmeter has led or participated in a broad range of consulting and construction activities including strategic planning, organizational studies, facility planning, design, business case analysis and life cycle costing, construction, and acquisition. He has an in-depth understanding of the specialized engineering services ranging from design to design-build-finance-operate.
Mr. Palmeter is a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors Education Program and holds the designation of ICD.D.
Charley Baxter manages Innovacorp's finance and IT functions, including legislative and regulatory compliance, insurance and risk management, purchasing, and investment management for the liquid portion of the organization's venture capital fund. He also serves as secretary to the board of directors and participates on the senior management team tasked with developing and implementing corporate strategy.
Mr. Baxter earned his Bachelor of Commerce (Major - Finance, 2nd Major - Accounting) from Saint Mary's University. He attained his Chartered Accountant designation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nova Scotia in 1986.
Michael Donovan, chair of the board of directors and chief executive officer of DHX Media Ltd., has been recognized with numerous awards for his work in the television and film industry, including an Academy Award for the feature documentary Bowling for Columbine. Mr. Donovan co-founded and was a director of Salter Street Films, which was purchased by Alliance Atlantis in 2001.
He is a non-practicing member of the Barristers Society of Nova Scotia, was previously a member of the board of the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television, and is currently a member of the board of NSCAD. Mr. Donovan holds BA (1974), LLB (1977) and LLD (Hon) (2004) degrees from Dalhousie University.
Ram Raju is the CEO and founder of e-academy. E-academy pioneered electronic software distribution in the education market. Millions of students, faculty and staff have since benefited from such innovative programs as MSDNAA (free Microsoft software for the Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science and Design schools), software rentals such as SPSS and Minitab and volume license management.
Mr. Raju brings significant expertise in the areas of online marketing strategies and implementation of web-based business models. Mr. Raju holds three degrees from Dalhousie University: a bachelor of arts, a bachelor of science, and a master of business administration.
