Social media has huge and far-reaching implications for advertising in any industry. It's a connection with not just your customers, but potentially their friends and family. And as visitors to your social media pages become customers, your web visibility expands even more. So it's important to know what to expect. It won't happen overnight, and you'll have to keep at it for a while, but here are three reasons to not give up on social media advertising even if you don't see huge returns on your investments right away.

1. Create engagement opportunities

As a marketer in any industry, you want to engage your customer base. In automotive repair advertising, it might include asking customers to share their memories of their favorite vehicle, or fantasize about their dream car. Play a trivia game with your customers about common vehicle ailments or the functions of specific parts. Educate them about gas usage and how to get the most out of their mileage.

2. Access a younger customer base

According to some articles, the millenial generation will account for a full 40% or more of your customer base soon. You want to be able to tap into that and connect with them but often marketers are having trouble with it. Try connecting with them where they feel comfortable. Lose the arm's length distance many customers keep, and talk to them like they're people. Keep in mind that professionalism doesn't mean keeping distance, necessarily. Social media will allow you to reach more of them than almost any other channel of communication.

3. Make use of unique tracking tools and data

Social media can be used in many ways, one of which is that you can take in data, or even track which links are clicked most on your posts. In addition, you can put that data to use specifying gender, age, and even country using SimplyCast's Facebook tool to present the data to the demographics where it will be most successful.

These are all advantages to social media advertising within the automotive repair world, and will boost visibility, acceptance, and targeted data in relation to your advertising. Take them to heart, use them, and hopefully we'll be able to help you climb to the very top of your industry. You can find more tips on our automotive repair automation page.
