Epic Free Plan: It's all about Contacts

People love our Epic Free plan, and if you are just starting out with email marketing and building your contact list, you should check it out. For this week's article, we're going to answer the most common questions we receive about it:

How do contact plans work?

A contact represents a unique email address in a list that you send to, and the Epic Free plan allows you to have up to 2000 contacts you can send to. For example: let's say you have a list of 500 addresses and you send it out. As soon as you send to those addresses they become part of your 2000 contacts, leaving you with 1500 more that you can allocate among other lists you have.

How many times can I send to my contacts?

With the Epic free plan, you can send up to a maximum of 2000 contacts as many as 30,000 emails each month.

I changed my mind, I want to use different contacts. What do I do?

There is an option in your account to reset contacts, but there is a catch. Contacts can only be reset when your account renews (which is every 30 days). This is to prevent abuse of our free plan.

How do I reset my contacts?

You can reset your contacts by doing the following:

  • Click on your client number in the top-right corner of the page. There is small gear icon beside your client number.
  • You'll see a drop-down list of options. Select "Account Information" from this list.
  • Look for the section titled "Account Preferences".
  • Check off the box next to "Reset Contacts" to enable contact reset for your next renewal date.

When will my account renew?

Accounts renew automatically every 30 days from the date you signed up.

What happens if I try to send to more contacts than I have available?

The system will not allow you to send to more than a maximum of 2000 contacts unless you purchase a subscription.

Can I have more than 2000 contacts stored in the list management app?

Yes, but if you choose a list that has more than 2000 contacts the system won't be able to send to it.

How much does the Epic Free Plan cost?

The free plan is actually free!

Do people really ask you how much the free plan costs?

Yes.

Are there any hidden costs?

No, in order for your account to be charged you would need to purchase a paid subscription.

Why do you have a free plan?

We have a free plan to encourage businesses to grow their mailing lists and use our service.

What's the different between a free plan and a paid plan?

There are two differences:

  1. The Epic Free plan limits the maximum number of contacts you can email to (2000 contacts).
  2. We insert advertising in emails that are sent saying you are using the Epic Free marketing plan.

How do I use the Epic Free plan?

All you need to do is sign up and create an account. You'll be automatically set up to use the Epic Free plan.

If I upgrade my account, do I keep the 2,000 contacts from the free plan?

No, if you upgrade to a paid plan you do not get to keep the 2,000 contacts from the free plan. Your list and CRM data will remain untouched, however the 2,000 free credits you received will be removed. For example if you're looking to send to 3,000 Contacts, you'll need to upgrade to a 3,000 contact plan and not a 1,000 contact plan as they are not combined.
