Web Tracking Software

If you have a website but you're not monitoring the traffic it receives then you are missing out on valuable customer data. Sonar web tracking software allows you to easily monitor your website traffic and get a better overall picture of your visitors.

Here's how to use SimplyCast's Sonar on your website.

1) Select which pages you want to track

Whether you want to track some or all of your pages, you will need a list of the URLs you'd like to monitor. By having this list ready, you will save time when you start creating your tracking rules.

2) Decide how you want to track

Now that you have the list ready, it is time to start tracking your links. There are a couple of ways you can do this and it depends on what you want to accomplish with your tracking. If you want to see how many people view a certain link that you promote then you want to choose a tracking link.

A tracking link will create a new URL that you can use to promote that page and see how many people view that page through the tracking link. This is especially helpful for pages you share on social media.

If you want to see how many people are viewing your page natively, you will want to create a tracking pixel. This pixel comes in the form of a piece of code you add to your site. The pixel sits there and tracks activity on that page.

3) Input your links

With the list of links and types of tracking decided, you can now begin generating the links and pixels you need. To do this, input the link you want to track into the Sonar dashboard, select the type of tracking mechanism you want, and copy the results. You will either be presented with a short URL or a piece of code depending on what you generated. If it's code, you will need to put in on your website. If it's a link, you can start using it immediately and Sonar will track the results.
