Alissa is our Digital Copywriter. She recently graduated after studying journalism and began putting the skills she learned to work writing for us. Today we learn more about her story.
How did you get a job at SimplyCast?
I landed a job at SimplyCast shortly after graduating from university. I applied through the online process as a new hire.
Which educational institution did you graduate from and what did you study?
I recently graduated from the University of King's College with a Bachelor of Journalism with Honours and a Minor in the History of Science and Technology.
How did you hear about SimplyCast?
In the spring of 2015, SimplyCast was getting media attention for hiring new grads and offering the Student Loan Repayment Program. I first heard of SimplyCast from the newspaper and then did a little more digging on my own.
What made you want to join the SimplyCast team?
I saw a great opportunity to get involved in a company that values young workers.
What would you like to gain from working at SimplyCast? What have you gained during your time here?
I would like to learn more about the industry and hone my writing skills.
How would you explain what SimplyCast does?
SimplyCast provides a simple solution to marketing by automating and personalizing communications with customers.
What's your vision for SimplyCast?
I see SimplyCast becoming a very successful international company by being the leader in marketing automation.
Would you recommend SimplyCast to others?
What would you tell an applicant considering SimplyCast for an employment opportunity?
I would tell them to go for it. It's a welcoming environment that supports and encourages learning new things.
What classes or training helped prepare you for working at SimplyCast?
The writing classes I took for my journalism degree really helped to prepare me to work at SimplyCast.
How does SimplyCast differ from other employers you have worked for?
SimplyCast is different from other employers because it's more interactive. Everyone has something to contribute to everything that goes on.
Can you walk us through a day in the life of a SimplyCast employee?
On a typical day I can be bouncing back and forth on many different projects. I might be writing a blog post or editing a draft of a whitepaper. It's never boring.
