EmergHub is the world’s first application with a common operating picture showing local areas and their interaction with emergency messages, making the platform the first technology to connect all stakeholders in an emergency situation by using an all-in-one platform for communications. EmergHub has the capability to provide prompt situational awareness.

Introducing Emerghub

EmergHub is a first-of-its-kind technology aimed at improving communication during crises.

Emergency communication improved
As an all-in-one platform, EmergHub offers a centralized approach to emergency management with eight emergency-specific tools
Alerts

The EmergHub Alerts feature provides organizations with a multi-channel communication tool that can be used to provide immediate notifications via email, telephone, SMS, and Fax. These alerts can be sent to notify emergency officials of an ongoing event, and if used in conjunction with the available contact management tools, you are able to send out mass alerts to subscribed members of the general public.

With Alerts, you are able to send custom or pre-made notifications to targeted groups of individuals through the use of pre-made lists, by selecting a geographical region from the map view, or through quick searches. You also have the ability to allow users to confirm their receipt of your notification to ensure the message reaches its target.

Use Case

The EmergHub Alerts system provides multi-channel messaging tools that can be used to reach any number of individuals via telephone, text message, fax, and email. These alerts can be sent to inform emergency officials of an ongoing emergency event. Combined with the contact management tools, alerts can also be sent to subscribed members of the general public.

Quickly deploy email, text, and voice messages to targeted groups of individuals and target users via pre-made lists, quick searches, connections with the OnCall component, or by selecting a geographic region with the EmergHub map view.

OnCall

OnCall is EmergHub’s schedule management feature that can be used to automatically reach the currently scheduled on call personnel at a facility, ensuring you have someone available to respond to emergencies at all times. If the on call staff member cannot be reached at any given time, a fallback number can be specified to provide users with assistance.

The OnCall feature allows you to create any number of contact groups and helps you to determine whether there are any gaps in your scheduling, providing alerts whenever there is no one scheduled for a particular shift. In the case of an illness or other unforeseen absence, the feature also allows you to override the current OnCall schedule to skip or replace that particular team member.

Use Case

OnCall provides tools to create and manage OnCall schedules of any type of professional.

Using OnCall scheduling, you can ensure that you have people ready to respond to emergencies at all times of the day.

OnCall schedules let you automatically reach one of the currently on call staff members so that problems can be solved. If staff fail to answer the call, a fallback number can be specified to provide end users with assistance.

Recall

EmergHub’s Recall feature allows authorities to quickly rally teams of qualified professionals to respond to a crisis as soon as possible. The feature functions over existing telecommunication networks, allowing recipients of the recall to respond to the message via voice, SMS, or email.

You are able to customize your own recall message to send out to responders or you have the ability to send a quick recall using a pre-made template. Set the expiry of the recall and the required number of responders. Once you send out the recall, you are provided with reports detailing who responded and their specialties, allowing you to determine which types of responders you are lacking or mark the recall complete to prevent an excessive number of responders.

Use Case

The EmergHub Recall tool can be used by emergency management to quickly form teams of qualified professionals and have them respond to emergency events.

Recall functions over existing telecommunication networks and allows users to respond via voice, SMS, mobile data networks, or PCs.

Live Survey

The Live Survey feature of EmergHub provides users with the ability to easily request and receive information from the field via email, SMS, or telephone. Surveys can be used to quickly gather information such as hospital bed availability per health facility, or the status of on call personnel. Questions can be either open-ended or multiple choice, with the responses being tracked in real-time so you can come to a consensus in minutes.

Officials can also use the Live Survey feature to send quick polls to subscribed users as a means of collecting data and as a way of engaging citizens. Only members of the public who have opted in to the notifications via CASL-compliant means will receive surveys and be able to respond.

Use Case

Live Surveys can be used as a means to gather information quickly during an emergency. Simple questions can be sent to the appropriate people who can respond while on the go. Responses are tracked on the same medium that the message was sent through.

Because they are simple to create, live web-powered surveys have applications during in-progress conference calls, physical conferences, meetings, and training sessions.

The EmergHub Live Survey tools provide easy ways to request information from the field.

Surveys can be delivered via SMS, email, and voice and allow for either anonymous input, or only answers from users it was sent to. Live Surveys allow you to use open-ended or multiple choice questions.

Teleconference

Instant Teleconference is a feature which will allow your organization to easily and quickly set up a conference call with all relevant and important personnel within minutes of a crisis or emergency. This feature of EmergHub is unique in that it allows you to dial out to the people with whom you need to communicate rather than having to send out call-in numbers and codes to everyone. However, the module does also support standard dial-in teleconference participation.

After the instant teleconference has finished, you are able to view reports on the number of call attendees as well as the total length of the call. The teleconferences are also able to be recorded for later replay.

Use Case

Instant Teleconference allows you to dial out to the people you need to communicate with rather than having to distribute call-in information. In an emergency situation, Instant Teleconferencing can be used to get a group of users on the phone so that information can be quickly distributed. Instant Teleconferencing allows organizations to take advantage of low cost VoIP telephony communications. For large teleconferences, the module supports standard invitations and dial-in participant codes.

Map

The Map feature can be used as a contact selection tool when sending out mass communications. Use the map to define regions you can use to target a particular geographic area to which to send alerts and other communications.

The map can also be overlaid with information from the common operating picture, such as location of any personnel in the field, or the sites of all health centers and other emergency departments. Information about the status of each facility can be added to the map as well and it will continue to update automatically as soon as new information becomes available.

Use Case

The map allows you to create a visual representation of an incident or event and share its information across all of the networks within a single EmergHub account. Use the map to pinpoint an exact location where an incident has occurred. Draw a perimeter around the affected area that can be marked as an exclusion zone or used as a means of contact selection by enabling you to send targeted messages to all contacts who are located in that area.

Assets created using the Blueprints module can be easily represented on the map and efficiently managed by the appropriate emergency management official

Blueprints

The EmergHub Blueprints module allows for emergency managers to manage information regarding assets pertaining to an emergency event or incident. Acting essentially like a relational database system, blueprints are used as templates and are used to create instances that can appear on EmergHub’s Map interface. Emergency managers can look at the map and see the information they need to know at a glance.

With Blueprints, it is essential to plan out your actions beforehand in order to maximize your success and make sure that you are being as efficient with the system as possible. It is also necessary to have prior knowledge of the particular attributes that go into creating a blueprint, so as to be sure that the instances that you create using the blueprint contain all the information emergency managers need to know during an event.

Use Case

EmergHub Blueprints allows you to create and manage instances of all critical infrastructure with help from the Map feature. By creating a blueprint of a piece of critical infrastructure, you are then able to efficiently mark specific instances of this type on the map and gather detailed and real-time reports on attributes such as their status and operational capacity.

Blueprints help emergency managers remain aware of each piece of infrastructure they are responsible for tracking and allow them to customize the attributes of each asset to their specifications.

Command Hub

Command Hub is the main dashboard of the EmergHub platform where you are able to manage the real-time progress of an ongoing crisis or emergency situation, as well as view all your reports in one place as they are being updated in real-time. Officials can customize the dashboard according to what they deem useful at each level of deployment and it allows them to model the real world by letting them share the information that is most relevant to their expertise.

Pre-made event templates can be created and listed in the Command Hub Dashboard so they can be easily and quickly launched in the event of an emergency. Launching one of these pre-made event templates will send the user through an accelerated setup process, that allows the pre-defined elements to be customized.

Use Case

Command Hub provides a shared view into the current events across deployment. Information about ongoing emergencies and reports generated by the communication tools are available here at a glance.

A customizable dashboard allows emergency managers to define useful views at every level of deployment.

The common operating picture allows emergency managers to model the real world by defining and sharing the types of information that are most relevant to their area of expertise.

The common operating picture information can be overlaid on a map. Locations (such as hospitals, fire stations, and police departments) can be shown with information about their status readily accessible.

For example, emergency department capacity to receive patients and medical facility service statuses can be shown here using customizable icons and text.

Maps can be saved and quickly accessed so that emergency managers can see only information that is most relevant to the ongoing event.
