Struggling with keeping records of work orders in a central, easy to access way isn’t a new problem, however it is one many companies face. A straightforward process that allows work order details to be recorded while also communicating automatically can streamline how work orders are managed.

SimplyCast presents the idea of the Work Order Processing use case, a complete solution for recording work order details and streamlining subsequent communications.

The solution is intended to be leveraged by the sales, production, and accounting staff of production-oriented businesses to give all of them a straightforward way to access and share work order-related information.

The Work Order Communication Process

SimplyCast has anticipated the need for companies to ensure that work order information is recorded within a straightforward and efficient process that ensures information is communicated in an accurate and timely fashion.

Within this process, the sales and accounting teams each have one primary step to follow and the production team has two.

Sales – Step 1

The process begins when a member of the sales team submits a production request form. This form creates a log of that request and the production manager is automatically notified upon submission.

Production – Step 1

When a new production request comes in, the production manager is notified and provided with the details, and is then able to create a work order based on the information contained in the notification.

Production – Step 2

When the work order is complete, the production manager is easily able to submit one final form with any additional information that may be needed, sending that information to the accounting team along with the original information submitted by the sales team.

Accounting – Step 1

Finally, accounting automatically receives any information that may be relevant for accounting purposes and is able to process it as needed.
