The easy answer is express consent is always a good idea, and just being a part of your following doesn't mean that you have it. If anything, you would have implied consent during the duration of their membership or from the time they signed up, depending on your case. However, if your signup form contained everything required for express consent, then you would have permanent consent until they unsubscribed.
