Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, September 20, 2019 — SimplyCast, an ISO 27001:2013-certified leader in engagement automation for organizations worldwide, announced its new $100,000 Youth First Fund at its 10-year celebration on September 20, 2019 the theme of which was youth retention in Nova Scotia.

Over the course of 10 years in business, SimplyCast has provided experience to over 200 young workers in Nova Scotia including new graduates, co-op students, and high school students. As SimplyCast grew so did the programs focused on keeping the next generation of workers in the province. These programs included the Student Loan Repayment Program to help employees pay off student debt and the Next Star program, which gave paid experience to high school students.

The Youth First Fund takes what is an intrinsic part of SimplyCast’s fabric and propels it to the next stage. SimplyCast has been proud to have been able to offer several scholarships to local students over the years. As well, SimplyCast has built strong relationships with the co-op offices at local universities and colleges in order to provide work terms to students to aid in their education. SimplyCast’s partnership with post-secondary institutions over the last 10 years has not been limited to work placements. SimplyCast has also partnered with Nova Scotia Community College to create a curriculum for students that highlights the importance of communication in business.

SimplyCast’s support of youth is not limited to post-secondary students. With its partnership with the local school board, the company has also been able to provide experience to high school students. Partnerships such as these with other organizations have allowed SimplyCast to provide work placements to many talented individuals over the years. SimplyCast has had the fortunate opportunity to partner with ACOA, NSERC, Autism Nova Scotia, ISANS, NRC-IRAP, NS START, and many others to hire talent from the local community.

“Over the last 10 years, SimplyCast has been able to support young workers in Nova Scotia but only so far as they were able to support the growth of our company,” said Saeed El-Darahali, President and CEO of SimplyCast. “We were always happy to offer work placements to new grads and co-op students to give them experience. However, these placements also helped SimplyCast. Now that we’ve reached the 10-year mark, we at SimplyCast feel a greater responsibility to support youth in the province outside of the direct benefit we as an organization receives from them.”

The Youth First Fund is dedicated to supporting more youth in Nova Scotia through scholarships, work experience, and other programs as opportunities arise. The $100,000 fund will be an evergreen fund and allow SimplyCast to support the next generation right here in Nova Scotia.
