How are bounced emails handled?

Deliverability FAQs

Bounced emails are processed by our system automatically. Any emails that hard bounce because an email address no longer exists or any other permanent error are flagged in your list you mailed to as a bounced address. These addresses are placed on your email unsubscribes list as well, which can be accessed through the Email application.

Addresses that bounce for a temporary reason, such as a mailbox being full, are called soft bounces. Since these bounces may be temporary, they are not marked as bad addresses when the results of your email campaign are processed unless the addresses soft bounce five consecutive times.
