What is Fixed Value?

Sonar FAQs

Fixed Value is the value that is created when the tracking data is activated, whether it is a link or a pixel. This is used in adding or removing anything from the Destination Field in the Sonar application.

Is it included in my plan?

Yes. Sonar is a free subscription available to all our SimplyCast users, so all the features of Sonar are fully unlocked for you. This does not mean, however, that the features of 360 such as email, SMS, and others are unlocked.

How do I use it?

When you open our application at app.simplycast.com and sign in, you will notice the Applications toolbar at the top of the screen. You can find Sonar in the menu that drops down. By opening Sonar and creating a new Sonar web tracker, you will be transported to the editing page, where you can add rules and change settings and tracker types. Clicking the plus sign to "add additional tracking data" means you can use the dropdowns to build a tracking rule with the fixed value feature in it.

Eg: Data source "Fixed Value" > Dest. Field "Score" > Operation "Add Value" > Value "3" will add 3 to the contact's score whenever the link is clicked.

How does the fixed value feature benefit me?

This allows you to ensure that a specific action is performed without fail every time a customer clicks the link or visits the page. It also allows you to gather data about the number of times a page is viewed and see if it has a correlation with conversion.
