There are many excuses to avoid social media management for real estate pages, but social media remains a great way to reach out to new leads and new potential clients. Get visitors to vote on a different fun topic each day: What's your favorite restaurant in the South End of the city? When is the best time of day to go to the local farmers' market? What is the best paint color for a bathroom this spring? This gets people interacting rather than just skimming the page, and it highlights hidden gems and local meeting spots in the community. This is great for people who are thinking of moving to a new area.
2) Feature client spotlights. Take a picture of a client in their new home, get a quotation from them about what they think (and their permission), and tell the story of how they got there. Show how you assisted them to choose the right home. This is engaging on a personal level and it shows visitors that you are dedicated to excellent client service. It's always better for a real client to show how much you've helped them, rather than for you to just brag about it.
3) Show your involvement in the community. Take pictures of your real estate agents when they attend local events, use hashtags to target your messages and post about what you did at the event. This could be an event that you organized or simply an event that you are participating in with other local businesses.
4) Post frequent real estate tips about how to select a property, the least stressful way to move your belongings from one home to the next, a to-do list for new buyers and so on. This shows visitors that you care about their needs and that you are an experienced real estate agent. It increases loyalty and makes you stand out from the competition.
5) Post real estate industry news. People like to know that you are up to date, and they like to know what's going on in real estate currently. Link to articles, news videos and opinion pieces.
6) Create an infographic. These are wildly popular and are likely to be shared on social media. It could be about what type of house is the best fit for what type of person or family, property tips to build knowledge, ways to increase energy efficiency in your new home, or really anything relevant to real estate.
7) Contests are a great way to get visitors to share, like and retweet. Partner with other businesses in the community to offer the chance to win a gift basket, restaurant coupons, a weekend at a bed and breakfast and so on. Ask visitors to share a real estate listing in order to enter the contest. Or have them share photos of their favorite spot in their home for a chance to win. This gets visitors involved and excited.
8) Make real estate videos. These take a little bit of work, but they are worth it. Visitors are more likely to watch a video than to read text. People love visual content, and a video is likely to get a lot of interaction on social media because it is attention-grabbing. Make video home and property tours, videos of your agents addressing common real estate FAQs, videos of your team at local events and so on.
9) Interact with other users on social media! That's what social media is for. Share, like, retweet and comment on content from other businesses and regular people. This boosts your visibility and it also shows that you are involved in the online community. If a real estate agent is only interested in talking about themselves and being active on their own page, what will a potential client think about them? Take a few minutes every few days to engage with others on social media.
