Machine Learning Engineer – Full Stack Developer

About This Position

Our team is looking for a highly motivated and versatile Machine Learning Engineer – Full Stack Developer to join our AI Innovation Team. You will work across both the ML and application layers to fine-tune, deploy, and integrate LLMs like Meta’s LLaMA 3 and Cohere’s Command R+ into SimplyCast 360, powering multi-modal communication, intelligent automation nodes, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) features.

This is a hands-on role where you will bridge AI modeling, backend integration, and user interface experiences to bring intelligent automation use cases to life.

Key Responsibilities

Machine Learning / AI
- Fine-tune and deploy open-source LLMs (LLaMA 3 8B/70B, Mistral, Command R+) using Hugging Face, PEFT, LoRA, or similar frameworks.
- Build structured prompt templates for multi-modal campaign generation (SMS, voice, email, fax, chatbot, landing pages).
- Develop custom RAG pipelines using vector databases (e.g., FAISS, Weaviate, Qdrant).
- Implement scalable inference solutions for on-prem hosting or edge devices.
- Optimize LLM pipelines for latency, cost, and Canadian data compliance.
Full Stack Development
- Develop backend services and APIs to connect AI models to SimplyCast 360 nodes.
- Build admin tools and UI components using Python.
- Design prompt orchestration and campaign builder interfaces.
- Create logging, validation, and monitoring tools for AI outputs.
Collaboration & Innovation
- Work closely with product managers, automation specialists, and marketing to define use cases and user experiences.
- Stay current with state-of-the-art LLM developments and recommend integration strategies.
- Contribute to AI ethics and responsible deployment best practices within the platform.

Job Requirements

3+ years of experience in machine learning, NLP, or applied AI
Proven experience deploying and fine-tuning LLaMA 2/3, Mistral, or similar open LLMs
Familiarity with Command R+ (or other RAG-optimized models)
Strong Python programming skills, including experience with Hugging Face Transformers, LangChain, or LlamaIndex
Working knowledge of DevOps: Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines
Experience with vector DBs (e.g., FAISS, Pinecone, Qdrant)
Experience building and deploying AI solutions on Canadian or private infrastructure
Experience with campaign automation, marketing tech, or government digital services preferred
Knowledge of multi-modal AI (image, voice, text) and synthetic content generation preferred
Experience with PHIPA/PIPEDA-compliant AI systems preferred
Familiarity with model quantization and low-resource inference (e.g., llama.cpp) preferred
